I LOVE getting in over my head, even though its an exhausting and obsessive way to write. Some day I will return to medieval/fantasy/romance, because of the rich complexity of the possibilities in creating those stories.
My German publishing house hasn't bought it yet, but write them and ask for it! I'm also at work on a book titled CRAZY HOT - a fast-paced romantic suspense with a GREAT love story in it. Glenna McReynolds: RIVER OF EDEN is a contemporay adventure/romance set in the Amazon River. Do you plan to write about something else? Literaturschock: Your novels are a mixture of fantasy and romance. My newest book RIVER OF EDEN, has my friends calling and saying, "That's you! You're Annie Parrish!" and they're right. They both transcended the purely "mortal coil." As far as putting myself in the books, I am mostly Ferrar in PRINCE OF TIME, and Madron in the whole trilogy. Dain was so darkly erotic and complex, and Llynya so purely natural, so comfortable in her own skin, so sure of her formidable skills, both survival skills and fighting skills.
They fascinate me, but I have to second your choices. Glenna McReynolds: I truly love all my characters. Literaturschock: My favorite Character is Dain Lavrans, and I also like Llynya (I think she's a little Lady Mayhem, isn't she?). I simply plunged in, having no idea where the novel might take me, or who I would meet. Glenna McReynolds: Which of my books do I like the best? THE CHALICE AND THE BLADE will always hold a special place in my heart, because of the way I wrote it - with no boundaries, no expectations. Literaturschock: Which of your novels do you like most? And actually, there is a good question nobody ever asks that I wish they would - "What's your favorite quote?" Accomplishing a long sought after goal is a marvelous experience. One of my favorite quotes is "To strive, to seek, to find, and not to yield." Tennyson. It was marvelous, intoxicating (and no, I didn't make a lot of money on that first book). My feet didn't touch the ground for weeks after I had made my first sale. Glenna McReynolds: Getting your first book published is absolutely incredible. Literaturschock: What did you feel when your first book was published?
MCREYNOLDS THE CHALICE AND THE BLADE QUOTES MOVIE
Glenna McReynolds: What question do I wish people would ask? How about "How does it feel to see your book become a movie?" Of course, nobody has made a movie out of the books! But I sure wish someone would! Literaturschock: What is a question you are never asked that you wish people would ask you?
I could think of nothing more important or fulfilling, nothing "cooler" than being a writer. So I started thinking about what would be the single most incredible thing I could do? Writing novels was my answer. At the time, I was an accounting major at the university, but I realized if there was something I wanted to do, I had better do it now and not wait until I had my whole life neatly organized and planned and secure. The sudden tragedy of his death caused me inconsolable grief and forced me to re-evaluate my life.
Glenna McReynolds: I became a writer after my father drowned. Literaturschock: What was the one event in your life that told you "I'm going to be a writer?" He's always finding great books in his library and bringing them home. My husband is a great source for research books. I'm married to a school librarian, and we have two children. Glenna McReynolds: My family and I live in Colorado, one of the Rocky Mountain states, and we do love to ski and hike and camp. Literaturschock: Could you tell your German fans something about yourself? (family, hobbies and so on)
